Large Voltage-Tunable Spin Valve Based on a Double Quantum Dot

چکیده

We study the spin-dependent transport properties of a spin valve based on double quantum dot. Each dot is assumed to be strongly coupled its own ferromagnetic lead, while coupling between dots relatively weak. The current flowing through system determined within perturbation theory in hopping dots, whereas spectrum dot-ferromagnetic lead subsystem by means numerical renormalization group method. charge fluctuations ferromagnets and generate an effective exchange field, which splits levels. Such field can controlled, separately for each dot, gate voltages or changing magnetic configuration external leads. demonstrate that considered setup exhibits enhanced magnetoresistive properties, including both normal inverse tunnel magnetoresistance. also show this allows generation highly spin-polarized currents, controlled purely electrical means. with contacts thus serve as efficient voltage-tunable characterized high output parameters.

A voltage tunable quantum dot photodetector for terahertz detection

A voltage tunable quantum dot (QD) photodetector for terahertz detection based on intersublevel transitions is proposed. The intersublevels are formed by the lateral electrical confinement applied on quantum wells and the transitions between them can be strongly tuned by the confinement. Under normal incidence, the peak detection wavelengths can be tuned from ∼50 to ∼90μm (6.0 to ∼3.3 THz) with...

Tunable nonlocal spin control in a coupled-quantum dot system.

The effective interaction between magnetic impurities in metals that can lead to various magnetic ground states often competes with a tendency for electrons near impurities to screen the local moment (known as the Kondo effect). The simplest system exhibiting the richness of this competition, the two-impurity Kondo system, was realized experimentally in the form of two quantum dots coupled thro...

Pauli Spin Blockade in a Highly Tunable Silicon Double Quantum Dot

Double quantum dots are convenient solid-state platforms to encode quantum information. Two-electron spin states can be detected and manipulated using quantum selection rules based on the Pauli exclusion principle, leading to Pauli spin blockade of electron transport for triplet states. Coherent spin states would be optimally preserved in an environment free of nuclear spins, which is achievabl...

Tunable Kondo physics in a carbon nanotube double quantum dot.

We investigate a tunable two-impurity Kondo system in a strongly correlated carbon nanotube double quantum dot, accessing the full range of charge regimes. In the regime where both dots contain an unpaired electron, the system approaches the two-impurity Kondo model. At zero magnetic field the interdot coupling disrupts the Kondo physics and a local singlet state arises, but we are able to tune...
